Thats been repeated for centuries.
The snow is blizzarding and the Dexters have their backsides sucked in against the snow.
They are currently tucking in to some beautiful smelling haylage that I've put out in the field for them..
A scene from today that would have been the same generations ago.
It just struck me as one of those special farming moments.
we also awoke this morning to find our dexters covered in snow i get the feeling they are not as cold as we would think they are however they all seemed a little friendlier than usual :p
Not sure what we were going to get weatherwise I actually got the sheep in yesterday as well!!! So that is all our 4-legged friends safe, warm and dry in their barns and only the 2-leggeds (and the dogs) out there in the snow/slush and rain doing the feeding, the bedding down, checking their water ............... and humans are supposed to be the superior race, I wonder what clown thought that up?
Our girls look lovely in the snow, but it makes the sheep look awful. Both the cows and sheep still prefer to be outside, they love being amongst the trees at night, even though they have stables and a shelter to choose from!?
It was hard work today, fitting in all the sledging and animal care. Our village is nicknamed the london alps, fabulous when it snows. The only downside is the rigamortis that sets in your legs later on in the evening. :p
