We have just been blessed with two fantastic looking light chocolate brown male dexter calves, a colour we have not seen before - yes they are definately dexters! - the colour is definately not red and they are not the dirty brown that turns black as we quite commonly see. Does any one think that they may be dun - we are not sure what to put on the breed certificate

Please help!

Sounds like they could well be dun, I wondered till I had my first dun calf how easy they would be to tell from reds but they are quite different. If you do not have access to herdbooks etc I can look back pedigrees for dun animals if you give me the names and registration numbers.

What color are the noses compared to the black noses of the parents?
