I have now been looking for a dun bull to hire but have come to the conclusion it is easier to buy as there seems to be a real shortage of dun bulls. Does anyone have a medium legged dun bull with no polled gene of show quality (does not have to have been shown). Good temperament is important.

I didn't realise that finding the right bull was such a mine field.

I wonder where you are? Philippa Laing has Woodmagic Red Deer and Templeton Carlsson, both dun, medium leg bulls for hire, they are both in the South West. Fiona

Over here its polled Red Bulls that are really sort after. The Small Block owners prefer polled animals because they don't like dehorning. A lot of people like a few Red Dexters in among their Black herd. I'd quite like to have one or two Dun animals one day as well, but that could be some way down the track.
