I have 3 heifers that are 14 months old and all by Woodmagic Hedgehog. Two are out of long / non short cows and the other is out of a short cow.My problem is that I'm having a job to decide if they are short or long ??? I find it easy to tell what leg length the older stock are but even with these girls being over a year I'm struggling. I greatly admire those of you that decide the leg length of your calves !! Any help / advice ???

Woodmagic Hegehog is a non short leg bull therefore any offspring from him and a non short cow must be non short leg. The short leg cow has a 50:50 chance of producing short or long leg calves. Obviously she can be compared with the other two heifers which you know are non short, but to be quite sure you can have a chondrodysplasia test done for £25.00, which would give a certain answer. I hope that helps.
