Age of heifers for serving

Hi
Can anyone please advise me at what age I can put heifers in with the bull for their first serving ?

Generally 14 months is OK, but you need to take into consideration how well grown the heifer is. If very small I would leave her to mature for longer. Also the size of the bull is a factor. A very heavy bull might not be suitable. If in doubt get an experienced Dexter owner to check them for you, if possible.

They are only 12 months old and are bulling already !! (forward little lasses !)

My bull is a non - short but is not really a big lad either so I give them a few more months and then probably give in to their yelling ! :p
