Re: Happy New Year
Possibly the first calf of 2018?!
Dear old Woodmagic Merlin 6th calved in the very early hours. By feeding time this morning the little heifer was totally dry, very well fed and she yelled good and loud when mum was rude enough to leave her for 5 minutes and eat Suckler Rolls! I am absolutely delighted with Merlin. I bought her in April 2015. Since then she has calved 3 times, once was a few days after I bought her. Then again in August 2016 a lovely dun bull which will become my stock bull and just under 18 months later this little girl.
Why am I so pleased? Well she wasn't in the best of health when I bought her and I hoped to keep her alive long enough to breed one calf. She took a bit of getting right but she is absolutely fine and dandy now and calved again today...she will be 20 years old on 15th June and is feeding the calf really well at the moment. I have smiled most of the day....
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

That's a lovely story Saffy, made my day. So good it is a heifer as well.
