One might say it was. It could even be deemed that 'efficient' means the commercial (be that for sale or home production) aspect.

At one point, I was moved to tears by the heart-wrenching account of a life long member's experiences. Yes, I had heard the rumours but was quite unprepared to see the effects - I hardly recognised the person in question and I cannot believe that whatever they had done (or not as the case may be) warranted the alleged treatment. So desperate was this individual to tell the membership of their suffering it was just awful to witness.

I couldn't make the AGM this year for health reasons, but have come back from many feeling drained and frustrated after attending. However sadly nothing is solved by burying ones head in the sand, but unless we get more members to stand for election and attend AGM's it will never change.The majority of Dexter owners are a bit like dog owners and most people who actually work for the clubs' societies have personal agenda's and i know i will get some verbal over this comment, but attend any AGM and I bet you come home frustrated unless its your local little group or club who only wants to have a nice day out and socialize.
The majority of us who are trying to make our dexters pay and are members of the DCs are becoming a drop in the ocean, as more and more people are keeping dexters for their meat and are not bothering to register their animals, around here anyway.

It was pleasing to see a greater selection of registered stock than non-registered at York this year - we seem to have had a dearth of unregistered for the past few years and I took this change to be a positive sign.

Perhaps that is where the focus now needs to be, on promoting the tangible benefits of paying a little more for registered stock. I'm convinced, but the lack of responses on my other thread about this makes me wonder if I am in a minority of one.
