Mini baler and wrapping system
Re: Mini baler and wrapping system
Will do, once I've got some grass to cut...
As an afterthought, I've just bought Silage & Haymaking by Ian Moore (1959) from eBay. Any recommendations for reading gratefully received.

Re: Mini baler and wrapping system
Well done JohnnyP, I hope you get on as well with the system as I have. I have always had good backup from Danelander, Steve is very patient with the silly questions from a new owner, and contactable almost 24/7. The only major trouble I have had over 3 seasons with his gear was the mower, which got slack bolts on the gearbox and because it is all hidden under the cover for the skirt I did not realise till serious damage was done. Now repaired and ready to go for this year, I will be keeping a careful eye on all bolts and now I know where they all are!
Feel free to contact me direct if there is anything I can help you with.

Re: Mini baler and wrapping system
I was just wondering if anyone knew where to buy the 250mm wrap in singles or threes? We currently use 500mm wrap for parcels & pallets, it's better and cheaper than pallet wrap, but a full roll is quite heavy & not as easy to handle for smaller parcels. I was bidding on some on ebay, but missed out because I didn't see the end of the auction.

Very nice setup Duncan and it will defiantly pay in the long run.
We are starting doing our own large bales. There's nothing quite like making your own hay, haylage or silage. This year is going to be a funny one though, weather an all!!!!!
P.S The view from your land is breathtaking. Where abouts are you?

We are on the Isle of Bute, not one of the outer Hebrides but one of the Clyde Islands, along with Arran and the Greater and Lesser Cumbrae - just a stone's throw from Glasgow really. Our main ferry is 35 minutes across the Firth of Clyde, and anothe one at the north of the island takes us to Argyll.
