Moomin Apollo 1996 - 2013

Post by moomin »

Thought all his friends ought to know that Apollo is no longer with us. This gentle man was much travelled and he can be found in many champions pedigrees. He lives on in his son [the picture on the home page of this website] Sun King, who was his last fling before he went infertile. Sad day when you lose an old friend who has given you so much - such is life!

We remembered this picture taken at the AGM 2010 when we visited your farm.
It was one of the highlights for us that year.

I think this picture shows a wonderfull bull and a wonderfull farmer good taking care of her cattle.

PS I think the red cow is the mother of Moomin Sun King, sired by Moomin Apollo

Everything is all right with us !
Our herd has grown to 7 cows, 2 bulls and 5 calves.
From Posh we had a bull calve who wasn't very gently, so we culled him.
Now we have inseminated a cow with MacDuff. hoping for a heifer!

Our actual herd bull is a son of Indy M5569 with Moomin Apollo and Moomin Doodlepip in his pedigree.

Society Holland Dexter has grown from 86 to 99 members last year. These members have 258 registed Dexters. All smallfarmers, only 2 have around 25 animals in their herd (calves included). Only 10 have more than 5 animals. We trying to give them the right information on the right time. Wich is appreciated.

We hope everything is fine with you to!
