Anyone travelling to Melton from the south west please?

Post by justmalc »

I've recently purchased a young Belted Galloway heifer from Exmoor and am making plans to collect her.

I was just wondering if anyone is travelling up to the Rare Breeds Sale at Melton Mowbray and would be able to pick her up for me please in return for a sizeable donation towards their diesel costs?

Many Thanks,

Malcolm.

This really is the most shocking post I have ever read on this board. The words "collect" "Galloway" and "Belted" being used in one sentence by a hitherto respectable Dexter breeder has never happened before. I just do not know what to think

Hi Duncan,

Nice to hear from you, hope you'll be at Melton?

I know what you mean, I nearly left out the breed of the heifer and let people imagine it was a Dexter!

Please don't be too concerned, we only have a few Belties and still have the Dexters - even the National Show winner!

Hope to see you at Melton and have a safe trip down.

Sincere Regards,

Malcolm.

Hello Malcolm,

sorry I think I will not manage to Melton, I will be at Carlisle sale doing some inspections and a "meet the members" with Council, and maybe even manage the AGM, but time off is scarce these days and most of it seems to go on Dextering. Other staff need time off too apparently, one vet got married yesteday and apparently a honeymoon is necessary, so I will be single handed most of the rest of August, and still have a couple of hundred small bales of silage to make, so no pressure here then!

Best wishes to all at the Melton sale, I do hope it goes well this year.
