Melton Mowbray Sale Back on!

Post by debra wiltshire »

such good news to hear that the Melton Sale is back on! Its such a good central location and easy to reach. Breed inspectors to reassure inexperienced buyers and a show and sale...prices have been consistently some of the best in the country over the years... :)

The Leicestershire group have taken control of the dexter section at Melton Mowbray Breed sale on Saturday Sept 8th 2012.
There will be 2 breed inspectors and a show on Friday 7th, we have a special celebrity judge Adam Henson to judge the dexters and with the TV cameras there hopefully we can get some airtime on countryfile. There will be prizemoney for the show classes and an equivalent payout to the purchasers of the winning cattle. All in all a very exciting sale, so if you are thinking of selling some nice halter trained stock then Melton is your venue. Schedules will be out in the next few days.

Was struggling to find a link for online entries on melton mowbray market website.

Found if you open the pdf schedule then click on the grassroots website name it opens up.

Alternatively there is a tab to select on the grassroots systems website.

I've never been to Melton sale, might make an effort to go this year, now, do I dare take a trailer...?

Rob, you should know by now that it uses less fuel to take the trailer, simply because if you go to a sale you will have to go home, get the trailer, and collect your purchases.

While you are at the ringside, just remember the man on the vintage tractor programmes - "go on, you know you want one!"

Just a quick reminder that entries close this Sunday 5th August at Midnight. Entries are online only now.

I have entered 4 females. Also plan to enter a few at Carlilse and York. Drought will not affect sale prices this year, but with the general poor state of the Economy it is still very much a buyers market.
