Info on Planetree Talos please

Post by Inger »

One of our NZ A.I. companies is offering straws from Planetree Talos. The picture shows him standing beside a man. Either the man is shorter than average, or Talos is over the breed standard in height. Can anyone tell me how tall he is at the hip? Also, is he red or dun? The colouring in the picture isn't very good. Is he a young bull? He looks good in type, but not filled out as much as I would like, in the rump.

As he's a UK bull,I'd like comments from those who have seen him in the flesh please.

The man in the photo does look short and he's stood behind Talos. Cracking bull.

Thanks for that link. I've printed off the details and picture. The Market Place shows an older bull and well filled out. I have to agree, he is a cracking bull. At $65 a straw, I'm trying to decide how many straws to get. I'm after a bull calf. I wonder how many tries I'll need, for Murphy to decide to give me a good one?

Inger, i think you will find that Steve Darnbrook the owner is definately a short leg, so that's why the bull looks a monster. Unfortunately i have never seen the bull so i can't give you any more help.

We can also confirm Steve Darnbrook is NOT a carrier Having been with him for three days at the Three Counties Show its his wife and son who are the carriers, carrying the water, hay, straw, coats, equipment, food, drinks, etc, etc, etc.

Planetree Talos is 138cm at the hip. This was from an email from owners 1st Nov 2012.
I think he is a big boy.

Just received email from owners correcting this measurement. An error was made in converting from 47 inches - so he is about 120 cm - whew, that sounds better.

Planetree Talos available in Holland

Post by PorcPrunus NL »

Planetree Talos comes available in Holland (AI)!

We heard he is assessed: as EX93. Body EX95, Breed Character EX95, Legs/Feet EX90, Rump
EX94.

Think that's a wonderful score for a nice bull.
Can't wait on his progeny being born on our smallholders farm!
