Dexter Beef on TV

Great British Menu, Wednesday evening 25th April at 7.30 on BBC 2.
Moomin Dexter beef cooked by Charlie Lakin, [son of Dexter members Mr and Mrs G Lakin], the Chef at the Marquis in Alkham.
Those of you who came to The South East AGM tasted his cooking! He is representing the North east because he is from there although he now lives in the South East!

Don't know how many of you saw Friday nights Great british menu when Charlie cooked for the 3 judges. If not it is worth watching on iplayer [BBC2] for the comments about Dexter beef.
Pru Leith actually recognised the beef on her plate as Dexter and described it as sexy!!
Her Comments :- "Delicious. Is that sexy1 it could be Dexter beef. Tastes so good."
Oliver Peyton's comments :- "You really do have to go a long way to get beef as good as that and cooked as well as that."
What an accolade for our breed.
Unfortunately Charlie got pipped at the post, he did not do so well with his other dishes so Dexter beef won't be fed to the Olympic athletes1 [Actually I blame the snails]

Apparently one of the Northern Ireland chefs ŵill be using Dexter beef this week on Great British Menu. I don't have the detail but I assume it will be main course as it was not used for the starter tonight. Hope he does a good job following the excellent feed back from judges last week.
