its a long time since I showed or bred pure dexters but found this site and noticed some names from the past.I still have two dxter cows that are bred from my bursea herd anyone remember magic or badger.or my stock bull Ben Loyal .regards Helena

Bursea Badger as pictured in the 1985 herd book. I can't claim to have seen Badger in person but I recognised the name and checked my 1980's herd books. She was a chunky looking heifer. I see your herd is described as "privately milk recorded" - I did record a few of mine in the late 1980's early 1990's
Your Ben Loyal would be one of the Shootlands bulls, another name from the past which was a big influence on the breed.

We have two heifers by a Danish bull who has Ben Loyal twice at four generations back, through Ben Lomond. That makes our heifers 3 greats and a grand, twice, equals 1/16th Ben Loyal!!
