Well it had to happen. Somehow a gate was opened and my Dexter bull got into the field of females and my Angus bull, Borut.
I didn't see it but looking at the mess, there was a fair scrap. When I found them, both were sheepish and tired, but it was Borut the Angus that had been banished to the other field whilst the Dexter kept the girls! I reckon the Dexter is 400-450 kg's, and Borut must be about 800'ish!
As it happens, the two photos do actually show the actual size difference.

I am surprised actually. I've had them next to each other over a gate but inside, and there was such a difference in size between them that they just ignored each other. The Dexter is a small one, smaller than a lot of the cows. I'm very glad I dehorn everything!!!!

funny enough, mine got in with each other yesterday. they are actually fine, they arent bothering fighting. they were brought up together.
the angus bull was mercilessly bullied by the dexter gang who all had horns. then they were all cut bar the 2 for breeding. the dexter was then dehorned and seperated with his angus chum.
they are both young to be given the work i had for them, the dexter has kept fit and done well. the angus has not grown as well and looks a little out of shape.

Well I've put the dexter in a field with super-high fencing now, because he also popped over our normal fencing a few months ago to get in with my fatstock heifers. He was only in a day or two but I Estrumated the lot just in case! There's no stopping this little chap :D

Both my Dexter bulls came home yesterday, so there was the expected sparring between senior and junior. However, junior has hit on a cunning ploy. His mum is current herd matriarch, so he's hiding behind her in the field shelter while she stops the senior bull coming in. It's so funny!
