We have just moved the fence, we have been holding this lot back as there is a heifer with them that blows up if she gets too much clover. I don't think there is much clover on the part of the field that is left anyway.
The grass is higher than they are in places! OK - I know Dexters are small. :;): I wish the crop we have mown for hay had been this height!!! I will be off to row it up soon but it was pretty poor, I think the ph is probably wrong and am going to get it tested. Most of the grass in the field seems to be Yorkshire Fog this year - pretty useless. I am waiting for the crop walker to test it as I would like his expertise when it comes to what to dress it with or if I have to plough it up but if he doesn't do it soon I may have a go myself, as I am told you can buy a soil testing kit from Ebay for around £10. Has anyone tried one?
I think the bull is munching a Burdock plant but whatever it was - it was very tasty because he ate the lot in no time.

Hi Stephanie,
I've told my lot not to look at these photos as they'll cry... my poor overstocked lot with a 'mown' paddock and rhodes hay and molasses.
But are they in for a surprise soon when they move to their new home on 125 acres, with tall grass.
Lovely pics and the look on the bull's face is exquisite. :D
