Hi everyone, Ive just been given a copy of this wonderul little book of Miss Lloyd remembers, and her life was rather fascinating!
She had the Pentre Hobyn stud, and I see the home she grew up in Pentrehobyn in Wales is still going as a reception/hotel/function centre - wow!
Another fascinating bit of Dexter history for me to read downunder!

Great little book, Denise. Beryl sent me a copy for Xmas a year or two before she died. Miss Lloyd was about 104 at the time. Beryl had been speaking to her on the phone but found that "Miss Lloyd was a bit hard of hearing". (She wasn't the only one!)
Beryl worked for Miss Lloyd for a while when she was young, and the earliest Woodmagic-prefix cows were sired by Pentre Hobyn bulls. Balksbury Rosemary and Woodmagic Merlin, the matriarchs of the M families, were sired by Pentre Hobyn Blue Jay and Pentre Hobyn Jay 2nd. Woodmagic Peewit, matriarch of the P family, was sired by Pentre Hobyn Jay 2nd also.
Beryl also sent me a copy of the early book 'Wood Magic' another Xmas. Must admit I haven't finished that one yet. It's not about Dexters.
Margaret.
