We are running very short of silage and are finding getting hold of organic silage within hauling distance for ourselves nigh on impossible. So does anyone have any recommendations for a haulier? I've found some silage for sale in North Devon - we're near Exeter.

If you contact your nearest livestock market, they should have a list of suitable people or should know someone.

Try Sastak (http://www.sastak.com/). I don't whether they are nationwide or just midlands but worth a call. They organise everything from getting forage, fertiliser, transport, to help on the farm and hiring machinery. Even though they take a commission, I have found them really good.

Organic silage must be a nightmare to find, and expensive.

is being organic worth it?

Organic silage has been a nightmare to find and is very expensive :(

Time will tell whether it's financially worth it - the initial grants have certainly helped!
