It is my sad duty as President to tell you that Beryl passed away a few minutes ago.
We have lost an icon of our Dexter world.
I understand she was with friends at the end so did not die alone. Thankyou to all those friends who cared so much.

I met Beryl a month ago and I am truly honoured to have do so.

The medical team in Barnstaple did a superb job and she passed away at peace and in no pain. Stephanie was with her to the end.

I will miss her terribly.

Sadness and loss is felt in America as well. Many of us prayed for her recovery and then a gentle passing as reports became less hopeful.

A very great loss indeed. Beryl was so intelligent, knowledgable and likeable, and also open to new ideas. I will never forget meeting her for the first time last year. I didn't know what to expect, but was greeted with a smile that went from one ear to the other. People always seemed to be popping in and out which to me said everything about her. A sad day, so glad she wasn't alone.

I am totally shocked and saddened at the huge loss of Beryl.

Words cannot express.

From my dealings with Beryl she was so intelligent, with a brain and an eye second to none. Considering the road she took all those years ago before DNA shows the sharp eye and guts to go where she took her herd.

Thank you Beryl, without you most of us wouldn't have the opportunity to know this little cow.

On November 9th Beryl wrote to me:-
I never cease to bless the day I sold to Stephanie. ...

Thank you Stephanie and Tim for being so caring and giving after having known Beryl for such a short while.

Thank you Stephanie, Duncan & Bill for your phone calls earlier today, and Clive for an earlier email.

In time I hope to share with you some of the thousands of thoughts, ideas and wisdoms I have collected from Beryl's daily emails.

My sympathies go particularly to Sarah and family who have cared so long for Beryl and the farm.

Margaret

Beryl emailed me daily for the two and a half years that I had the pleasure of knowing her. Nearly every email had the title - Dexters. I shall miss those emails very much.

Caroline would like to post something but her username doesn't work, so here it is......

"A light has gone out. Ever since I first met her, Beryl was always there: on the computer; listening, commenting and educating. She was the best of teachers and one of the most passionate and interesting. Her foresight earned her a huge following. She educated those of us who had recently come into Dexters, and was always patient and willing to talk. Beryl was a focus for good and common sense. I shall miss her. Goodbye Beryl and thank you, Caroline"

I cannot say how sad I am . Beryl has inspired so many of us, and done so much for the Dexter breed, she will be so badly missed.
My wish for a long time was to be able to go and visit her and see her herd but work and health problems made that impossible this year. Sadly that will never happen now. Wish I had been on her email list.

Thank you to all who have been with her, visited her and cared for her so well.
