I understand one of our past presidents, Mervyn Mountjoy, was suddenly taken seriously ill. I believe he has a brain tumour and tests are being carried out to determine the best course of treatment. I know we will all wish to send our best wishes to Mervyn and Gwen and to let them know we are thinking of them.

I would just like to say that I along with many Dexter owners in the South west will be thinking of Mervyn and wishing him well.

Mervyn has been a wonderful supporter of the breed and also for us as complete novices to dexters some years ago, offered us great support , where ever we met him at the many shows in the area and frequently at the auctions at Holsworthy.

Best wishes Mervyn

Mervyn and Gwen are overwhelmed by all the cards and good wishes they have received and want to thank everybody so much for their kindness.

Mervyn is to have surgery tomorrow to see what is going on.
Let us hope it will be curable whatever it is.

I am sure our Dexter family worldwide will be thinking of you both tomorrow. Best wishes from all of us.

Update.
Mervyn is through his operation O.K.
Surgeons have drained fluid off [possible cyst?] which has gone for analysis.
He is out of intensive care and has no pain now.
Will update when any further news.
