I have always wondered who was holding the rather smart cow on the opening page of Dexter Cattle For Sale and I am still wondering so now I am asking.
As the picture is by Mark Bowles I assume it isn't Mark as his cow wouldn't wait while he set up the camera and ran to hold her in the picture, I have amused myself for a while though trying to work out how he could have done it.
So Mark if it is you a full explanation would be nice.
:D

Oh yes and what had they just won and where? I think that will satisfy my curiosity for a short while!!!

I will tell you in a couple of days, so all you clever clogs out there, tell me the name of the cow, the owner of the cow and the name of the handler in the picture.
The photo was taken in 2004.

Hi,

the cow is Hillgrove Jan,

the owner is Sheila Sykes and the handler is Geoff Harrison.

Most dexter people in the North know all three very well!

Well done Penny,
as you say Jan is well Known in the Yorkshire area and around about.
I took the picture at Sutton Bonington show in Sept 2004,
Jan had won the Dry cow class, a fine example of a dexter cow with horns.
Mark
And no there arent any prizes!
