Much as we appreciate the expansion of the blue tongue protection zone into east yorkshire, and that vaccine is now available.
I assume that its timing this morning will prevent anyone from east yorkshire taking cattle to the yorkshire show at harrogate this week.
Also unless the zone is expanded again will also prevent entries form west or north yorkshire from attending next weeks driffield show.
What a shambles!

I have no time for Defra, they have made far too many disastrous mistakes, but on this occasion, having spent hours in Council trying to avoid Show dates when arranging a meeting, I would ask whether any of you could schedule the Blue tongue restrictions without treading on someone’s toes? I think we had better hope they could get the vaccine out as quickly as possible, and give us all an equal chance to avoid this plague.
Incidentally, I am in the middle of calving, and while touching wood, have seen no adverse effects so far from their two recent injections.

The vaccine arrived at our Vets 3pm yesterday, by 5pm our Dexters had all had their first injection. Whilst having the greatest respect and sympathy for those of you whose showing schedules have been thrown into turmoil, I am relieved that after a months hold up we are now able to protect our precious Dexters, in the most effective way we know . If the powers that be could now produce a TB vaccine that would really be something!! Sue,(Castlemears) Forest of Dean

We're now in the BT Protection Zone and will be vaccinating soon. There's an interactive map on the DEFRA website which I found very useful.
