I would like to remind members that we have an election shortly with the results being anounced at the AGM in October, nomination forms are avalable from the office.
The Society needs people to serve on Council, and there is a lot to do, so if you know someone that will be suitable, talk to them and persuade them to stand, if you think you can be of benifit to the Society get a proposer and seconder, fill the forms in and get elected. Teleconferencing will greatly reduce the need for travel to Stoneleigh making serving on Council less of a bind and more of a pleasure.
The politics within the Society of recent months will die down once a new Council is elected, so don't let the present situation taint your decision. Whether you keep short or non short, show, breed for beef, or have a couple of cows just for the pleasure they bring, if you are interested in the future of the Dexter breed then it may be your turn to commit some time to serve on Council.

I hope those 78 readers have all taken this suggestion back to their local groups and asked for nominations. We hear of the need for representation, now is your chance. Emphasising Martin’s last paragraph, there is now the practical possibility for anyone anywhere to take part. It is up to you, the opportunity for a fresh vigorous start is there if you seize it, don’t just stay in the background, grumbling.

It’s a nice compliment, and I would love to help in any way, but unfortunately I am getting very deaf, and I don’t think that would go down very well with teleconferencing!

You may be getting deaf Beryl, but you still hear what the Dexter people say to you, and have the patience to answer, approachability has been one of the areas sadly lacking on council for a while,(Di excluded)... think about it, in the meanwhile I'll get a nomination form. Sue
