I'm sorry if this has been dealt with before but I have just done a search and cannot find it. We have just been asked by the vet to put our order in for vaccine. Am I right in thinking that once a bottle has been opened it cannot be used for the follow up vaccination (even if kept in the fridge). Unfortunately if this is the case it is going to mean me having to over order by quite a lot although I have got together with a sheep owning friend. Thanks

Once the cotainer is opened you have 8 hours to use it. Once up to room/outside temperature it cant be put back in the fridge
Units are available in 20 or 50 doses, our vet is breaking open bottles every day to give out to people who want single or only a few doses and they co ordinate it to be collected within the time limits.
In Sept we will need another 16 doses for our 8 expected calves so we will get 8 when they are 1 month old and then another 8 doses 3 weeks later.
Hope that helps

My vet also is coordinating small doses and putting them in tiny hd syringes, dead easy, no measuring.

Hi Carole

Check for this topic, sorry not sure exactly what page on the discussion board it is on:

"BT vaccine day tomorrow!"

It has some posts about storage. I am not sure how accurate this is - I'm in Australia so luckily doesn't affect me at the moment.
