I have had to send a number of animals to the abbatoir as they were approaching 30 months and the butcher I use has no hanging space in December due to Christmas so I am somewhat swamped with meat particularly mince, stewing and braising steak. If anyone out there who lives fairly northerly would like some at bargain prices please be in touch as my freezer is overflowing and my children can only eat so much mince however delicious it is. We are 6 miles north of Alnwick and I have an advert on the dexterbeefonline website for contact details.

Joey - Try your local pubs. Explain briefly why you're having to sell the beef. They will usually pay approx £2.10lb for mince & £3.30lb for braising. Most of my establishments like their beef fresh, but not all. The main thing is that the beef has been packed at an approved abattoir and you have not handled the raw meat yourself.

I have just put some info on the board for Sylvia - have a look at that. It might be of assistance.

Good luck
