Hi thanks again for all the advice, the cow was culled just over a week ago. It was a hard decision but I think it was the right one. I would have loved to have been able to put the calf in with our 'mum and tots' group but that would mean a trip along the road which is obviously not possible at the moment. The good news is that he is enjoying his milk replacer and calf crunch and is doing well. He has also bonded really well with our bull calf who is very gentle with him. Just need the movement restrictions to be lifted so we can get them all back together.

Well done, Carole, there are plenty of difficult decisions to make in livestock keeping. But it does get easier.

Thanks for all the support, at least I can walk in the field without feeling nervous now and the great news is that the calf is doing really well, just a bit frustrating at a time when we are trying to build the herd rather than reduce numbers
