Hearing on the news yesterday about the hindu bull that has failed his TB test, I wait with anticipation, especially at the proposed efforts to save him.
Roxy the holstein from Worcestershire was given a re-test after a TB skin test reacted if Shambo the Hindu bull gets one ,the DEFRA rules must be changed , fingers crossed for Shambo, Sue PS. did you see his photo complete with floral garland...dont tell the Dexters they will all want one.
She reacted to a pre movement test prior to going to a show in France, and being one posh cow worth thousands more than the compensation value, her owner questioned the vets proccedure, and managed to delay Defra, while aprivate vet re-tested Roxy and about 11 of her herdmates all went clear, the whole story is on bovinetb.blogspot.com sue
I believe all cattle have the second test - usually 6 weeks after the first. The farm meanwhile is on hold for any movements other than to an abattoir. The test is not 100% accurate so why a second test can be different ....but they often are clear Jo
