Northern Dun Dexters
I don't know of any dun herds, but do know of a few dun dexters in the region. Some of Carol Clark's Aiskew dexters carry dun, and I do know someone who may have a dun heifer or 2 available if you are looking for stock. Whereabouts are you, Rob?
Talking of Dun dexters, I cannot be the only one who was really impressed with Gwyn Williams Barrowgreen herd in the Bulletin. What a lovely sight!

You should know where I am Penny ???
I wasn't really looking for stock, just wondering, since Ilex is (Aiskew) dun sired, it led me to try & think of any more Dun Dexters in the North. Last night I was looking through the 2003 herd book & decided to look up how many Northern herds calved a dun, and this is what I found:
There were 13 herds in total, drawing a line from the Ridings, across the bottom of Lancashire, to form a 'Northern' point. Of these 13 herds, five of them were in Scotland, and most were just the odd dun animal in an otherwise mixed herd of reds & blacks. I suppose I should have counted up the numbers of herds further south, for comparison, which I might do should I have the time or inclination.
