With Christmas not far away and most blokes being notorious for leaving it to the last minute I thought I would ask for suggestions as to what to get the little woman. :p
Berry the Dexter cow that is and her friends :D . I thought about getting one of those special mirrors that make them look bigger so their size would reflect their characters. What will you be getting or perhaps wanting?

What about platform soled shoes. Cowslips now do a range of sizes but I think they go up from standard rather than down. This might be an ideal gift for those whose cattle run away - they could fit shoes on the left legs only, then they would automatically run in circles and come back home.

Well, you welsh dexter boys are sensitive aren't you. I was only trying to be helpful - it was you suggested that the magnifying mirror was needed to make your cow feel bigger.
I think my suggestion is quite practical, why not give it a try? Or are your cattle too long in the leg already?

It is a good suggestions Duncan but it would have to be on the left so they do a clockwise circle and that would bring them into the shed. That little problem is now almost in the dim and distant past (fingers crossed). As for the legs of my cattle they are just long enough to reach the ground and no more. What are you getting for them Duncan or do they prefer Hogmany.

I thought it was obvious, these two got a cruise across the Clyde, they are now hanging about in Paisley and will send some money home in 3 weeks.
Please don't think me so mean that I only give a present to two of the herd - the rest have had an immediate increase in rations because there are now only 12 sharing a bale every morning instead of 14. (A small bale of course, before you ask.)

Sadly due to expansion of the practice to mainland, Catriona will be on call in Dunoon whilst I cover Rothesay over Christmas, just in case any reindeer suffer bloat from too many mince pies. However our other vet will be covering Dunoon over New Year so I will have 24hrs off over New Year. Apart from feeding my remaining Dexters of course.
I am sure Lady MacIntyre will be using the proceeds of beef sales to finance some excellent cuisine over the festive season. I may wash up. Or I may not.
I hope you enjoy your leek pie.
Must get some sleep, livestock to feed before morning surgery you know.
