Stephanie, I couldn't agree more. I have just given my girls their second vaccination for bluetongue and was going to turn them out but the field entrance is so wet I will have to wait a few more days. The natives are getting restless, you might say.

Thanks Saffy!
This is what I needed.
I have spent the whole Bank Holiday weekend at the Ryedale Festival of Food and Drink at Castle Howard, selling the beef and promoting Dexters to the public, only to come back and read the most depressing entries, ever, on the discussion board.
Until then, I had been in bouyant mood because so many people were seeking out Dexter beef because they had heard how special it was.
Pictures like yours are why I have my dexters, and politics will not make me change my mind. The fact that they produce such excellent beef is an added bonus.
I have strong feelings about what happended at the EGM, but voicing them will not help or change the situation now, so I am off to spend the day in the fields with all my four-legged friends who are blistfully unaware of the problems.

Saffy what wonderful pictures, I've always considered Dexters to be Cows with "attitude" and your last picture shows it.
Penny you're comments are absolutely accurate--I almost want to say "stuff the society I just want to keep Dexters!!"
Anyway just about to calve 4 in next few weeks so I will attempt to get some photos as good as these.
