Is Linear Assessment linked to production and/or longevity?
Re: Is Linear Assessment linked to production and/or longevity?
I thought I'd revisit this thread, four years on, and pose a different question - will my bull live long enough to get his score? It's only been 15 months since he was assessed & tbh the lack of action from either the DCS or Holstein UK has not given me a lot of reassurance.

Rob, i am not sure what happened, have you a specific date and assessors name or signature on the back of the green pedigree certificate.

I think it was February 2017 wasn't it Rob, do you have the date? I can probably find it by looking through emails if you don't have it.

It was 7th February 2017 at 4pm, the assessor was called Malcolm Dykes? He didn't sign anything or do anything with the paperwork, but was rushing off to assess some shorthorns before it got dark.

Rob, HUK have now sorted this out and the official score has now been sent through to the DCS this month. Sorry for the delay, this seems to have been a one off and hopefully it will not stop you from having more of your cattle linear assessed.

Excellent news. Thank you Mark. :D Now I just hope I'm not disappointed by the score.

Not bad. I recall 92 being mentioned but it's not far off. I'll let him know.

I have just purchased a bull and on transferring him into my ownership i noticed there is now no record of his linear scores on his new registration card, this surely can't be right.

You are absolutely correct Ann, a linear score stays with an animal forever. Not sure which bull you have or why it has happened. Send me an email and I will have a look into it.
