Pampas Herd Dispersal
Pampas Herd Dispersal
Dear All,
We have reluctantly taken a decision to disperse our wonderful easy calving / high health status herd of Dexter Cattle (Pampas Herd Prefix) on Friday 13th May 2016 at Malton Market (North Yorkshire) as we focus on developing our other farming operations.
Cundalls will be handling the sale for us and there will be 24 superb LOTS in all. This will be a good opportunity for existing Breeders, and New Entrants to the breed, to pick up some really good high health status stock (Currently 1st Qualifying through SAC, free from BVD/IBR/Johnes & Lepto) with many animals home-bred over the last four years. There will be two tremendous fully registered young bulls, in-calf cows and heifers, yearling heifers and bulls and of course our wonderful stock bull Pampas Arthur (M6319) who is also BD1-N.
Would anyone interested in obtaining an early list of sale entries please email for details and we look forward very much to seeing you on the day and to offering you a wonderful selection of first class cattle.
Kind regards
Roddy Hamilton

Re: Pampas Herd Dispersal
Many thanks Rob. Appreciated.
We've had a lot of pre-sale interest in the herd and believe that these wonderful cattle offer something for everyone. We are now Red Tractor Farm Assured too so in addition to our high health status (and 4 Year Testing TB area) buyers can be very confident of the provenance and quality going forward to the sale. We look forward to hopefully meeting as many people as possible at the sale.
Thanks again

Re: Pampas Herd Dispersal
Some people came to look at my cattle yesterday, having bought some in calf heifers at the Pampas sale, reputedly for £340 each. Other stock were out of their price range. Since they've not phoned back, my cattle are obviously too expensive as well.
Mark, is that a typo or was the senior bull really sold for less than the birth notified bulls?

Re: Pampas Herd Dispersal
Sadly our stock bull Pampas Arthur did only make £367.50 which was disappointing as he's out of an Apollo cow by Harron Loyal Soldier.
However the Pampas bred In-calf heifers x 3 averaged £436 each and heifer calves ranging in age from 10 months to 6 months averaged £262 each.
Hope that helps
Kind regards

Thanks Lisa. At least they've all gone to good homes. Apparently stock bull has been bought to work too which is a bonus.
If ever in North Yorkshire come see us. You'll only be able to look st Aberdeen Angus I'm afraid but I proud of them too.

added a couple of the younger pampas heifers to the herd, 1st venture into horned cattle but will see how they get on as they grow. some nice cows but prices more than spare cash would allow me to take home
