...adverts that don't actually tell you anything!?
"for sale a number of..."
Would it kill you to say how many/much?!
I'm going to add that to the list alongside 'POA'
Don't you just hate...
Re: Don't you just hate...

Re: Don't you just hate...
'Open to sensible offers' is another one - how do we know what the vendor perceives to be 'sensible'? It puts the buyer on the back foot from the outset and is a very unfair way to advertise IMO.
Re: Don't you just hate...
OK I have a new one - sorry it is on this occasion my sheep but it could just as easily be my Dexters that I am being messed around on!!!
She has seen my ad and could I possibly keep them until next Saturday as she works all week and wouldn't be able to get to see them until after dark...this was Sunday - not a problem.
Could I send pics...I duly took and sent 2 pics of each ewe...5 ewes! Yes she liked them and would take them all, she was given prices ages, breeding and show histories of the ewes.... even the farms in Cumbria that the parents of the ewes were from!
This evening - Wednesday...If she buys all 5 her husband wonders if I would take less??? No I wouldn't! Because -a. I had agreed a price and b. I have turned a customer away! Oh says the nice lady. I don't want to mess you around....why don't you sell them to the other customer then, that seems the best idea?
Good job I kept his number isn't it!
Stephanie ...quietly fuming....

Re: Don't you just hate...
It could be [marginally] worse; there is a type of person who will travel a considerable distance to look at livestock, be extremely enthusiastic and proclaim that the animal's just what they are looking for, make arrangements for you to take it off the market and will let you know when they've arranged transport. Then you never hear from them again.
And speaking of pics, my dad unfortunately lost his combine to a fire this autumn. The assessors from NFU didn't want to come out and requested that he sent photos instead. Having taken 12 pictures on his behalf I sent them by a file transfer service but no, that wasn't good enough, they wanted each one converted to individual PDFs and sent as attachments in individual e-mails. That only took me another half day to do. After which they sent out an assessor anyway.
