Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Post by LISA »

Wishing everyone a very happy Christmas, and a Happy and Healthy 2014.

I suspect Santa will make an apperance shortly - Santa was last seen checking on one of my calving cows (Thank you Santa!) Santa only checks your cows if you have been very good!

Best Wishes Lisa Bell.

Merry Christmas to all in Dexterdom! :)

(If I've been really good will Santa feed the cows in the morning?

A Happy Christmas to all. I do like checking my cattle on Christams morning, often a good time for reflection.

I'll settle for just having the tractor start on the key.

It's the first night in for most of them, and I'm itching to get them sorted into orderly groups instead of the chaos of one big mob.

Father Christmas definitely came to my herd....my best cow had a heifer calf! :)

He didn't feed them though Rob but I didn't leave carrots for the reindeer!!!

:) Do we get a photo?

Santa did call here and morning feeding went smoothly, apart from the heifer that's worked out how to get through the barrier and has taken to sleeping in the hay! I got the opportunity to read last week's FW this morning too, livestock sustainability special, and now feel quite enthused about a progressive year ahead for the future of beef and Dexters in particular!

I was going to take a photo but despite being in a huge pen the cow has managed to cover her in poo!! :? So I shall take one when she looks a bit more presentable! Just been to do the feeding and she had got under the gate and was in with the rest of the herd doing laps of the barn, having great fun and her Mum wasn't the least bothered.....Maybe when you have had as many calves as she has you know that at some point a human will come along, catch your calf and put it back with you?
