Hi. Please note that the catalogue description for lot 129 - Brambledel Celtic Mist, is incorrect. She is black and short leg - NOT RED. She is running with a non short black bull - Brambledel Frodo EX90. Her calf details are also incorrect. She has a short black steer at foot. DOB 12.7.12.
I am posting some photos later tonight on our web site. http://www.brambledeldexters.co.uk
Thanks, Andy.

Amendment to the catalogue, lot 143 Humberdale Ruby has been replaced by Humberdale Blossom as ruby has been found to not be in calf.

the details for Blossom are:

Herd book F39557, dob 15th August 2010
Sire Belvoir Theo M5672
Dam Braemer Emma F20218

Blossom is black and long legged, she has ran with bull Kirise Ginger snap along with Ruby & Dannette.

Sadly my lot 141 at Melton Mowbray Linford Nightshade will not be forward as she has not beaten off ringworm despite my best efforts, the calf is now showing signs. If anyone is interested in her then i only live 25 mins away from the sale and a deposit would secure her until the ringworm has done its deed if needed.Photos will be available if required.

Like Mark, we too have ringworm problems. We are unable to bring Lot 129 - Brambledel Celtic Mist and Lot 142 - Bizzie Lizzie Harriet, as both their calves have ringworm. Both animals are still for sale and we are happy to keep them for any purchaser until the ringworm has cleared.
We are 15 minutes from Melton if any one wishes to view either animal. I will be contactable on the sale day on 07860 307035. Pictures are on our website. http://www.brambledeldexters.co.uk.

On Ringworm - it used to be a winter problem and a bit of sun in the spring cleared it up. Don't tell the vet but I have had success treating it with "Athlete's Foot" treatment cream.

Realistically I'm thinking of not going, looking at the state of our bank balance I don't want to tempt myself. :(

Spooky that Ted, i have used that as well, maybe the mix of that, Savlon and Immeravol have reacted to make the ringworm even stronger. There's always next year.
Show champion at Melton today was Needles Hall Chubby ( cow with calf at foot), reserve was Northbrook Hellrazor (Bull). Adam Henson did a good job of judging, all to be seen on Countryfile BBC1at the end of September. Not sure how much of the dexters will get airtime as he judged some sheep as well, sunny day so hopefully we will get a bit of a look in.
Book your ringside seats for tomorrows sale at 11.00am, about 28 dexters going through.

Not sure whether this will work on ringworm in cattle, but we once had a horse with 'German Pox' - very similar to ringworm. We had to scrub him down with Hibi Scrub, get the scabs soft, getting them off, so that when the Immaverol was used the next night the liquid got to the roots. It did clear up his problem.

Just a thought!!

Best wishes

Prices reflected the animal quality as usual but sale was not awash with buyers.

On behalf of all the breeders showing and selling their Dexters at Melton and the buyers who took home some nice animals, I would like to thank Mark for his work and commitment to ensure the sale was represented by the Dexter breed. I know Mark worked really hard to make the sale happen.
Dexters again outnumbered all the other breeds. Steve Adcock also deserves a thank-you for the un-enviable task of breed inspector!

I'm looking forward to more detailed prices. How long before we should expect the sale report to be ready?

Very enjoyable weekend...nice to catch up with some dexter people not seen in ages. Thank you Mark and Steve for all your hard work. We think the prices received for our cow and calf and heifer we sold were fair and I am very happy with my birthday present...Needles Hall Butterfly. Lunch cooked for me and a home baked birthday cake...been a lovely couple of days!

Thank you! I may kick myself here but what does (sub) mean?
