I had the pleasure of a day at the great yorkshire. My first time and a great day was had.
its alwaysdisapointing to see so few dexters at some shows but the ones present made up for the lack of numbers.
as you might be aware i am no fan of the short dexter, until now. i was won over by the tiny things. the calves there were stunning, at least 3 fantastic bull calves. are all short calves like that.
i made a resolution to buy a short cow.
whenever dexter stock came into the ring the crowds appeared and loved them, i thought it was great.
anyway somes pics, sorry dont know who was who.

Clip was a few seconds long at the beginning of the program featuring presenter and weatherman who introduced the winning dexter Planetree Iris and presumably her calf with owner Steven Darnbrook, it was repeated at the end of part one, but alas they did not feature further in the coverage from the show.

It was my first time attending & showing at the Great Yorkshire Show and I too was a bit disapointed at the number of Dexters forward, especailly as there was only one member of the Northern Dexter Group showing and we had travelled over 230 miles to show there.
Anyway the bull in the 1st picture is one of our bulls " Saltaire Pigment* " who was Reserve Champion, I am in the background of the 2nd picture with the number 430 on showing Diamond, the 3rd picture is one of our Junior Bulls " Buryhill Rory ".
This really was a Great Show, we had immense fun showing there and will definately be returning next year when hopefully there are more Dexters forward, so come on guys get your entries in early next year.

Hi I'm not sure if Kay & Steve look at the discussion board, however they are both members of the Northern Group,
It was great to see a new exhibitor travel so far and very disappointing not to see a better entry, unfortunately we are rather short of showing members at the moment who can take several days of to attend the Y.S we are trying to get a few more members showing. However I felt the Yorkshire show is not exactly pulling out the stops to encourage more cattle to attend.
