I have my IAE yearling crush for sale (also known as a Dexter crush) open to any serious offers, I also have a couple of cattle race arches and a large calf dehorning crate (with wheels and handles) all in very good condition. Please telephone 01363772664 to discuss. I am based in Devon.
Thanks Debbie
TB - testing
I think it should be remembered that, despite vets being by and large an even tempered lot (as I'm sure Duncan will agree) it is the owners responsibility to present cattle for TB testing and if this cannot be managed alone then help should be employed to make sure it does happen. If tests are not completed within the stated time then restrictions come into force and the farm is put on standstill.
The only 2 difficult cows we bought were simply frightened. They would not come in with the rest of the herd and ran in the opposite direction but we always managed to have them in the barn ready for the test and in time they quietened down and became as steady as the rest of the herd.
It might be worth wondering WHY the animals who are not conforming are behaving so badly. Humans are supposed to be the bright ones so ought, in theory, be able to outwit even the most difficult bovine.
