The one on the right is a typical Woodmagic of today. The left is not my breeding, and is more like half my herd fifty years ago, except that many were bigger. I made slow progress, partly because I could not be sure where it was taking me. When I started we didn’t even know where the bulldog came from. Today, you can easily define whether your animal is a carrier by pulling a few hairs out of the tail!

Beryl could you give us "newbys" a bit of an idea of the height each might approximately be/height difference? Its Ok we promise we won't sneak across your fields at the crack of dawn with a tape measure at the ready to catch you out but a rough guess would be both interesting and useful.

I should make it clear neither cow belongs to me but the shorter cow above is one of the Woodmagic Herd belonging to Beryl, I just took the photo!

Sorry, I missed it, I must say the idea of you creeping across the fields with tape measure in hand, in half light is awfully tempting, I wonder what their reaction would be!! However, I will make a guess, and suggest it would be a difference of 5” approximately with the Woodmagic at 40”
