Hi as I try to be as organic as possible and do not want to use a fly spray which is harmfull to birds, does anyone have a secret recipe for home made spray or can recommend one thats on the market, as I do feel sorry for my cows when they come up covered it those horrid little biting flies. :( :(

We use Barrier products, from our local supplier & directly through the internet, for the sheep. Can't vouch for the cattle products personally, but the Blowfly Repel for sheep has always worked well: http://www.barrier-biotech.com/product.php?pid=CFR

We have always used spot-on on the cattle, however there are various equine herbal fly repellants that you could try on the cows. :)
