Hi,
I got a black cow with a red father and a black mother. now i will inseminate her with a red bull. How big is the possibility to get a red calf?

Hello there in Switzerland!

Your black cow will have inherited one red gene from her father, so you have a 50% chance of a red calf from a red bull, and 25% chance from a black bull if he carries red.
The laboratory in Holland which is testing for the bulldog gene also offers to test for colour genes so you could find out by test of blood or hair follicles if any black cattle are carrying red or dun.
