I have asked Yvonne to tell us a bit about herself, but in the mean time I would like to welcome her to the Dexter Cattle Society and wish her the very best in her new role.

'As from 19th June, 2006 I took on the role as Breed Secretary of the Dexter Cattle Society. Elaine will be a hard act to follow but I hope that my efforts and enthusiasm will prove successful. I would also like to thank Elaine for all her help and support.

I thought I would take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself. I live in Warwickshire with my husband on a smallholding where we are very involved in breeding and showing Cotswold Sheep but I have also owned cattle for the last fifteen years. I started with Red Polls in about 1991 and then went on to own a Jersey. At the moment we have one cow and calf, these are Longhorns, but please don't hold that against me!!! It's my intention to show the calf next year so who knows I may even meet some of you in the show ring!

With regard to secretarial experience I have worked as a secretary for more years than I like to admit to - my last position being at Moreton Morrell Agricultural College where I worked as office supervisor and PA to the Dean.

I look forward to meeting a lot of members at the shows and the forthcoming AGM, if not I'm sure I'll speak to alot of people on the phone when you have need to contact the office. Please remember I'm new so be gentle with me!!'

Good Luck Yvonne

I would like to welcome Yvonne to the DCS, the secretary job is a tough one and i wish her well.
Its nice that someone eventually let our merry band of internet junkies know what is going on.
Where will the office be situated, i assume all post goes to Loughborough untill further notice.
