One of my cows has lost her primary tag and has a nicely healed split along the centre of her ear from middle to tip. Could somebody please tell me where would be best to apply a new tag? Thanks.

Aim for a bit closer to the head than the last tag, preferably on the lower half of the ear, but go above the split if that is the bigger half. If you are using the large plastic tags make sure that the female half is on the inside of the ear so that the outside is smoother and less likely to catch on things.
