Export of live cattle from the UK has not been allowed for many years because of BSE. It is expected that export of beef may be allowed from some time during 2006. I have no idea when export of live cattle will be allowed.

Have you checked with the Dutch Dexter Society? They'll be able to help you out. You'll probably have more luck importing embryos from Canada than the UK.

Some NZ breeders have brought in UK semen under quarantine conditions from England and with a special import licience. It isn't done very often, so they bring in as many as they are able and then on-sell to other Dexter breeders.

Dexter semen from my two bulls "Moomin Posh" and "Moomin Jupiter", is available in Holland from Cogent. There may be other bulls available too. Look on www.hollanddexter.nl
I have thought of taking some embryos, Belgium is interested. If there is enough interest then I would consider doing so.
