Society office now moved

Post by Mark Bowles »

This statement is on the DCS official website.

NEWS FLASH 11 October 2018
Please note that the Society Office has now moved – please send all correspondence to the following address: –
The Dexter Cattle Society, Holme House, Dale, Ainstable, Carlisle, Cumbria,CA4 9RH. | Telephone: 01768 870521 | Email: secretary@dextercattle.co.uk
We would ask that members bear with us whilst we relocate the office computers to Cumbria. There will be some delay in the processing of registrations and correspondence. I can assure you that we will try to be up and running again as soon as we possibly can. If you have registrations which may be late, these will be reviewed and leniency will be applied if necessary.
With many thanks for your patience.
Andy Ryder
(Company Secretary)

Great how members are told after the event! When was this decided? Have the office staffed moved with the office or are the society recruiting new staff.

Nat, the reason for the lack of advance notice was given at the AGM yesterday. This was to facilitate the withdrawal negotiations with the Charolais Society, who were hosting the DCS office.
The Company Secretary is Andy Ryder, as in the post above. There is longer a Breed Secretary as such, since most of the jobs done by the outgoing secretary have now been outsourced. There is a budget possibly for one national part-time position. However, the suggestion proposed yesterday was for each regional group to have a volunteer with a budget to co-ordinate breed promotion, beef marketing and such like activities. All part of devolving from the centre and engaging more of the membership to participate in breed activities and organisation.
