Cabin Fever time already

Post by Louisa Gidney »

Cattle came in early last year and are now bored. Besides the usual pen jumping and squabbles over the pen sides, they've come up with a new diversion. For the first time, they are sucking out each other's ear tags. I have never had so many lost tags in such a short space of time. Anyone else ever had this problem?

No tag problem but the cow with the youngest calf managed to get her gate open last night and the two of them had a great time! She and the tiny little dun calf went and visited most of the other cattle, had a snooze in the hay...mum at her fill!!! Then this morning I found them at the ford at the bottom of the road. Footprints gave the game away where they had travelled and the occasional pile of poo! The calf in particular seemed very happy with the arrangement....
