I would imagine most vendors would have been disappointed with prices at chelford. Cows with calves at foot ranged from 240 to 330 Gns. We bought a nice steer 14 months old (non short) for 250 Gns. Highlight of the sale of Dexters was our 14 month old short legged black heifer who was placed Third in the open cattle show and after spirited bidding was sold to Mr & Mrs Hardwick, Buxton for 500 Gns.
