York spring rare breed sale

This years spring rare breed sale is on Saturday 25th April.

Entries for pedigree animals close this Friday 10th April.

Hopefully taking a couple of cows with steers at foot, and a couple of in calf heifers.

The catalogue came out today. 18 cows including 9 with calves at foot, 13 heifers, 3 bulls & 24 steers.

Averages this year were up on both sales last year, and I expect there are some happy vendors tonight, including a 10 month old red heifer that went for 420gn and top price being 530gn for a nice cow with calf at foot. I may have missed a couple of lots due to being distracted, or they may not have been forward, so my figures apply only to those I heard;

from what i was told by another seller the cow with calf he sold, and the two we entered are all heading for across the channel to France. So some of the other breeding stock may have gone to the same buyer.
