The american lady is Judy Sponaugle, who runs the "Legacy" registry for Dexters, along the same lines as the "original population" here in UK. I have already tried twice to help her get back on the site and Mark is aware of this.

Does anyone on the board have a 1943 herd book?

Legacy began as an American preservation effort and part of the effort included genotyping the foundation animals. It evolved into the genotype registry after Legacy established testing services through the world renowned veterinary genetics laboratory of The University of California offering prices that were less than half what owners had been paying and all available tests at one lab. A number of international owners began to use these services. DNA is $25 US and chondro, PHA, color can be batched with the first test being $20 US and $10 for others in the batch from one hair sample. The system is user friendly and the process efficient and timely.

Owners worldwide are invited to join the effort to make a permanent record of the breed and add their Dexters to the genotype registry. The cost is minimal and an added bonus is that Legacy works to complete the ancestral pedigrees. Currently many if the early animals have expanded pedigrees but are only searchable through genotyped entries.

I am trying to locate herd books of the 1930s to complete a compilation of all appendix animals.
