Posted: Fri Aug 22, 2014 6:46 am
A meeting has been arranged to assess the interest in forming a Group
of Dexter owners in and around South East Wales, MId Wales, West Wales
and the Boarders.
It would be hoped that any Group formed would become affiliated to the
Dexter Cattle Society and therefore enjoy the benefits of same.
The Dexter Cattle Society Council has allocated upto £200 to fund an
initial meeting for venue hire, light refreshments, etc.
The meeting has been arranged at the Llangasty Village Hall, Powys,on
the 14th September commencing at 1300hrs (1pm.).
Jacqui Parkes (Alvecote Herd) has agreed to give a short talk titled
'Cattle Health Schemes - A Breeders Prospective' with a short Q and A
and discussion afterwards.
It is hoped that following on from this, attendees will give some
input into a discussion on the formation of a group and a way forward
with an interchange of thoughts and ideas to promote all things
'Dexter'.
Persons attending may like to bring a packed lunch, arrangements will
be made for the Hall to be open from 1200 hrs. The hall enjoys a rural
location overlooking Llangorse Lake and has comprehensive catering and
toilet facilities.
The nearest postcode location is Ty-Mawr Lime LD3 7PJ.
Directions:-
From Brecon - follow the A40 towards Abergavenny, when the dual
carriageway comes to an end (in Llanhamlach), take the first turning
on your left signposted Pennorth, When you get to the hamlet of
Pennorth don't take the left turning but continue straight on for
about 1/4 mile until you come to Llangasty Village Hall on your right.
It would be helpful to get some idea of possible numbers if persons
would forward names and numbers to Alan Carrington
(07770475978) or contact for further information.
