Any advice on calving from the knowledgeable forum

no replies on a subject like this may seem strange, but I would suspect it is because it is just so difficult to give a concise reply. there is so much to say about it.What I say and how I say it tends to depend a bit on who I am saying it too - what is their experience of farming already etc . Probably the main thing is to know if possible the expected calving dates of your cows, have them somewhere accessible, and know the signs of imminent calving, and when things are under way but not proceeding. At that stage you need to know who to go to for help - can a knowledgeable friend or neighbour help, or is it a vet job.
